Balto just happened to be the last one, so he got the majority of the credit. While Seppälä and Togo did the hardest work, it was Balto that got all the fame, even from President Calvin Coolidge. In fact, there was such a hatred for Balto getting all the credit, that him and his owner weren't even welcome to the award ceremony in New York for Seppälä and Togo.
